Drylock Technologies has officially marked the expansion of its Reidsville, North Carolina, manufacturing operation, with the site already surpassing the investment and employment targets set when the project was announced in 2024.
Rockingham County officials, community leaders and Drylock executives gathered on September 24 for an official ribbon-cutting ceremony to celebrate the company's rapid growth in Reidsville.
“A ribbon cutting is always a special occasion because it allows us to celebrate more than a new building. It represents an investment made, jobs created, partnerships strengthened, and promises fulfilled,” said Leigh Cockram, Director of Rockingham County Economic Development. “Drylock’s investment is a tremendous vote of confidence in Rockingham County—in our workforce, our location, our infrastructure, and our ability to support companies as they grow. We are proud that Drylock chose Rockingham County for this important part of its future.”
The event also drew the U.S. Ambassador to Belgium, underscoring the cross-border business ties behind the investment.
Surpassing Growth and Production Goals
Belgium-based Drylock Technologies announced the Reidsville project in February 2024, committing to invest more than $26.9 million and create 113 jobs within three years. The company also set longer-term five-year targets of 150 jobs and more than $30 million in investment.
Drylock has now surpassed both five-year targets in just two years; the hygiene products manufacturer has invested more than $31 million in the Reidsville operation and has grown its local workforce to 212 employees.
The Reidsville project involved the transformation of an existing 450,000-square-foot facility into a manufacturing operation serving the U.S. market. Production at the site began almost two years before the September 2026 ribbon-cutting.
Reflecting on how quickly the site transitioned from a fresh investment into a fully functioning manufacturing powerhouse, Drylock CEO Bart van Malderen noted the exceptional speed of the rollout: "It's not just a startup anymore. We are almost 2 years in production now, so it's not just one machine, it's multiple lines."
Expanding baby-care production in North America
The Reidsville plant represents a major step in Drylock’s North American expansion, adding local manufacturing capacity for baby diapers and bringing production closer to retail partners and consumers.
Reidsville adds to Drylock's existing U.S. manufacturing presence in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, which produces adult incontinence products.
By localizing production of high-quality baby diapers and pants, Drylock has optimized supply chain speed, reduced transit overhead, and reinforced its commitment to agile, localized manufacturing.
