Lucart SpA, the multinational paper group known for the brands Lucart Professional, Tenderly, and Tutto, and Cartindustria Eurocarta Srl, one of Europe’s leading independent converters of tissue products for the Away From Home (AFH) market, announce the signing of a binding agreement for the acquisition by Lucart of a controlling stake in Cartindustria Eurocarta.
The agreement strengthens the role of both companies as key players in the professional tissue paper market. It marks a significant step in enhancing Lucart Group’s presence in the AFH channel, improving industrial efficiency, and boosting international competitiveness, by leveraging the long-standing commercial tradition of the Porcari-based company.
Francesco Pasquini, CEO of Lucart.
Francesco Pasquini, CEO of Lucart, stated: "A long-standing customer of our semi-finished products, Cartindustria Eurocarta is the ideal partner to continue our Group’s growth strategy in the AFH channel. Its production flexibility and customer-centric approach align with Lucart’s value proposition, enabling us to more comprehensively meet the needs of the European professional market. Moreover, the common ground with the Agati Family and the trust in the current management made this partnership a natural step, one that will strengthen both Eurocarta and our Group. With this operation, Lucart further consolidates its leadership in the Italian AFH market and its position as the second largest producer of professional products in Europe.”
Established in 1993, Cartindustria Eurocarta has over thirty years of experience, a wide and customized range of products, and a well-established presence in the Italian and French markets. With more than 40,000 tonnes processed annually, approximately 80 million euro in turnover, and 70 employees, the company is today the largest independent European converter specializing exclusively in the sector of hygiene and cleaning products and services for away-from-home use. The headquarters and production facility in Porcari (Lucca), adjacent to the Lucart site, represents an additional strength for developing industrial and logistical synergies.
Paolo Agati, Founder and Chairman of the Board of Cartindustria Eurocarta, stated: “Lucart’s entry into our corporate structure marks a pivotal milestone for our company. This strategic move ensures continuity, sustainability, and strength in the growth journey we have undertaken over the past decade, enhancing our ability to compete on a European scale. By combining our expertise in the converting market with Lucart’s industrial vision and organisational strength, we are better equipped to face the challenges of a constantly evolving sector.”
The industrial synergy between Lucart and Cartindustria Eurocarta will enable the optimisation of both production and commercial processes, fostering greater efficiency across the entire value chain and creating new opportunities for industrial development. Another key aspect of this agreement is the expansion of their geographical presence in strategic markets, with particular focus on Italy and France, where Lucart and Eurocarta have built strong and lasting relationships with their customers over time. Finally, the integration of these two long-standing companies from the Lucca area aims to promote a shared corporate culture, capable of combining family tradition with a forward-looking approach to innovation and sustainability.
