We are saddened to share the news of the passing of Piero Celli, one of the founding figures behind A.Celli and a key contributor to its worldwide success. The following tribute was shared by A.Celli Group:
On 24th April 20205, Piero Celli passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at his home in Porcari, Lucca, Italy.
Born on July 15, 1936, in Pontedera (Pisa), Piero Celli was one of the leading figures in the history of both A.Celli Group and the Italian paper machinery industry.
He and his brother Marco, together with their father Alvaro, founded in 1962 the Officina Meccanica Alvaro Celli e Figli s.n.c. Through the brothers’ efforts to explore new markets, forge international relationships, and cultivate trust with collaborators, suppliers, and customers, the A.Celli brand became a symbol of quality and innovation worldwide.
“Before being a great entrepreneur, my father was a great man. A loyal, curious, and intelligent person, gifted with that spark that truly makes a difference. There was a vibrant light in his eyes, and in his heart the energy of someone who built this company with passion, vision, and a deep sense of responsibility toward people.
Today, he has returned to the Father’s house, but he leaves in all of us the lasting mark of an extraordinary example—one that we hope will continue to inspire us all.”
— Alessandro Celli, son of Piero and shareholder of A.Celli Group
Our thoughts are with his family, colleagues, and the entire A.Celli team during this time.
