White Hygiene has officially commissioned its first tissue paper machine, PM1, marking a major milestone in the company’s transformation from a branded hygienic tissue converter into a fully integrated tissue mill, at its facility in 6th of October City, Egypt.
The newly started HiCredit tissue machine is designed to produce high-quality hygienic tissue using both 100% virgin pulp and recycled fiber grades, supporting a diversified product portfolio aligned with market demand and sustainability requirements. The PM1 installation adds an annual production capacity exceeding 30,000 tons.
Founded in 2014, White Hygiene currently operates 13 converting and production lines, manufacturing a comprehensive range of hygiene products. These include facial tissues, pocket, duplex and flex pack products, toilet rolls, kitchen rolls, wet wipes across all ranges and applications, and makeup remover cotton pads.
With the startup of PM1, White Hygiene can now produce all major tissue paper grades—facial, toilet, and kitchen tissue—across a wide range of GSMs and paper thicknesses, enabling precise customization for different market segments and customer requirements.
The PM1 installation represents a strategic shift from a converting-focused operation to a fully integrated tissue manufacturing model. The machine is fully automatic and operates using a DCS (Distributed Control System) concept, supported by a comprehensive set of quality control and inspection points throughout the production process. This integration significantly enhances operational efficiency, product consistency, and quality assurance.
“A dream turned into reality. I am proud to share that we have officially started PM1 at
