Valmet has agreed to sell its pump business to Metso. The pump products are currently sold under the Flowrox™ brand as part of Valmet’s flow control offering.
The transaction covers peristaltic hose pump and progressive cavity pump technologies, as well as related aftermarket spare parts and service offering capabilities.
The Flowrox trademark and brand remain with Valmet, and Flowrox valves will continue to be core to Valmet’s valve portfolio.
“This transaction aligns well with Valmet’s strategic agenda in Flow Control. It allows us to focus our resources on further strengthening Valmet’s offering and capabilities in mission-critical valve and valve automation, while also sharpening our position in the mining and metals segment,” Niko Koivuniemi, Vice President, Strategy & Business Development at Valmet’s Flow Control business area.
The transaction is expected to close on October 1, 2026. The value of the transaction is not disclosed. The divestment does not have a material impact on Valmet’s financial performance.
“This acquisition further strengthens Metso’s ability to provide comprehensive, end-to-end slurry handling solutions and services for our customers. The added offering complements our pump portfolio and enhances our role in supporting customers as a full lifecycle partner in key mining markets globally. We are excited to welcome new colleagues to Metso’s growing pumps team,” Tiago Marques Oliveira, Vice President, Pumps business line, Metso.
