Jordanian paper and tissue producer Sanabel Al Ataa has started up its second tissue machine supplied by China's Baosuo Paper Machinery.

The new PM2 tissue machine has a design speed of 1,600 m/min, a width of 3.65 m and an annual production capacity of 26,000 tonnes.

The startup follows the commissioning of Sanabel Al Ataa's first Baosuo-supplied tissue machine in 2025. The PM1 machine operates at a design speed of 1,600 m/min, has a width of 2.85 m and an annual capacity of 21,000 tonnes.

With both machines in operation, the company now has a combined tissue-paper production capacity of 47,000 tonnes per year.

The expansion forms part of Sanabel Al Ataa's ongoing development of its paper and tissue manufacturing operations at the Al Qastal Industrial Area near Amman.

Sanabel Al Ataa is an integrated tissue producer manufacturing toilet tissue, facial tissues and jumbo tissue rolls for consumer and professional markets.

Part of the Khattab Industrial Group, the company also produces paper, cardboard and recycled products and reports a total annual production capacity of 100,000 tonnes. Its product range includes testliner, fluting, white-top, kraft, semi-chemical and plasterboard papers.
