Rio Sampa Papéis is reinforcing its market position with the installation of a new Perini Mile 5.1 tissue converting line from Valmet, a move that significantly boosts productivity, operational efficiency, and product quality for Brazilian consumers.
With an operating capacity of 600 meters per minute, the new line will take Rio Sampa Papéis to another level: increasing daily production from 10 tons to up to 45 tons in the long term, and entering the market for household toilet paper and multi-purpose towels, segments with high growth potential and significant representation in Brazil.
Currently, Rio Sampa Papéis' production focuses on roll and interfolded towels, institutional toilet paper, napkins, and hospital bed sheets.
The implementation of the Perini Mile 5.1 represents the continuation of a commercial relationship that has already been built between both companies. About three years ago, Rio Sampa Papéis entrusted Valmet with entering the institutional products segment by installing an automated line focused on this market — a move that consolidated the converter's presence in new categories.
“The choice of Valmet was based on the brand's reliability, the robustness of its equipment, and its globally recognized technical and commercial support,” highlights Eric Oliveira, Director of Rio Sampa Papéis. “The Perini Mile 5.1 reinforces Valmet's commitment to offering solutions that boost productivity and sustainability in the tissue sector, consolidating its position as a benchmark partner for the growth of converting industries in Latin America,” he concludes.
Derived from the renowned MyPerini line, the Perini Mile 5.1 combines advanced automation, process intelligence, and robust architecture. The equipment is recognized for its configurable versatility, ease of maintenance, and excellent cost-performance ratio—decisive factors in Rio Sampa Papéis' choice.
The line will be integrated with Casmatic A6T and CMB202 packaging systems, both global benchmarks, which guarantee greater performance, precision, and consistency in the quality of the final product.
The Mile 5.1 also incorporates advanced automation features and intelligent process control, significantly reducing the need for manual intervention and ensuring greater operational stability.
This complete automation — from winding to packaging — contributes to energy efficiency, reduced waste of inputs, and better use of raw materials, factors aligned with Rio Sampa Papéis' sustainability and industrial innovation guidelines.
“The installation of the Perini Mile 5.1 represents a strategic technological advancement. In addition to increasing productivity, the new line will ensure product standardization, resource optimization, and strengthen the company's competitiveness in the national market,” says Eric Oliveira.
