Indian paper and tissue manufacturer Jani Sales Private Limited has officially commissioned its third production line, Tissue Machine 3 (PM3), at its manufacturing facility in Sarigam, Gujarat. The startup follows the successful completion of technical trials and marks a major capacity expansion that positions the company as one of the top three tissue paper manufacturers in India.
The new line adds 80 tonnes per day of production capacity, increasing Jani Sales' total annual production capacity to approximately 82,000 tonnes across its three paper machines.
Supplied by Chinese tissue machinery manufacturer Baosuo, the high-speed Crescent Former machine is designed to produce premium virgin-fiber tissue grades for both domestic and export markets. The new line features:
-
Design speed: 1,800 metres per minute
-
Machine deckle: 2.85 metres
-
Basis weight range: 11.5–50 g/m²
-
Raw material: 100% virgin wood pulp
The machine has been designed to produce lightweight, high-softness tissue grades for a range of converting applications, including facial tissue, toilet tissue, kitchen towels, and napkins.
The commissioning of PM3 follows the startup of the company's PM2 tissue machine in October 2024. PM2 added 50 tonnes per day of tissue production capacity and was installed to support growing demand for premium tissue products in India and overseas markets.
Jani Sales' expansion comes as the Indian tissue market continues to record strong growth, driven by increasing hygiene awareness, urbanization, and rising demand from the hospitality, healthcare, and foodservice sectors. Domestically, the Indian tissue sector is experiencing a projected compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 12% to 15%, driven by increased demand for higher-quality virgin-fiber products in the retail and commercial sectors.
The company plans to allocate approximately half of PM3's output to the domestic market, while the remaining volume will target export destinations in Europe, North America, and the Middle East. By combining increased capacity with advanced production technology, Jani Sales aims to strengthen its presence in premium tissue segments both in India and internationally.
