Juthor Paper Manufacturing has held a groundbreaking ceremony for TM6, its new high-capacity tissue manufacturing production line, at King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) near Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The event was attended by representatives from government and private sectors including MODON and the Economic Cities and Special Zones Authority, along with senior leadership from Juthor and MEPCO.
The TM6 facility represents a total investment of SAR 345 million (about $92 million). The Andritz-supplied TM6 will significantly boost Juthor’s tissue production capabilities to an annual capacity of 120,000 tonnes at speed of 2,100 mpm.
This expansion supports Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030 by fostering local manufacturing, reducing dependency on imports, generating skilled employment opportunities, and emphasizing sustainable environmental practices.
Andritz will manufacture, supply, and install the tissue machine, with completion expected within 24 months.
Musab Al-Muhaidib, Chairman of the Board at MEPCO Group, highlighted the project’s significance: “The launch of TM6 is a testament to our unwavering belief in Saudi Arabia’s industrial future. As we align with Vision 2030, this expansion strengthens our role in enabling local manufacturing and advancing the Kingdom’s self-sufficiency in the tissue sector. Moreover, the facility will employ sustainable manufacturing methods to support environmental goals, including efficient resource use and reducing carbon emissions.”
Eng. Faisal Haddawi, President of MEPCO Group, added: “We do not simply build capacity – we build value, resilience, and trust. TM6 will accelerate our strategy for sustainable growth while deepening our contribution to the Saudi economy and regional markets.” He emphasized Juthor’s commitment to continuous innovation to meet growing demand in the Kingdom and the broader MENA region.
Juthor Paper Manufacturing Co. is a subsidiary of Middle East Paper Co. (MEPCO), which ranks among the largest paper products manufacturers in the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region."
