PEGAS NONWOVENS has concluded a purchase contract for land for the construction of a production plant in South Africa.
The company selected a land parcel owned by the City of Cape Town located in the Atlantis industrial zone in the Western Cape province. Approval of the City took effect this year in June
“The land purchase represents a very important step for our South African project. I am therefore very happy that we managed to sign the purchase contract in line with our schedule,” said František Řezáč, CEO and Member of the Board of PEGAS NONWOVENS SA.
Plans of construction were announced in 2016, in accordance with this decision, PEGAS established a subsidiary in the Republic of South Africa under the business name PEGAS NONWOVENS RSA (PTY) LTD. The subsidiary was registered with validity as of 11 July 2016 and is under 100% ownership of the PEGAS Group.
In the first phase of the project, the planned investment would amount to approximately EUR 30-35 million. The production line should have an annual production capacity of 10 thousand tonnes and it is expected to be put into operation at the end of 2018.
